Just round the corner.
Hi Guys,

I've had the cupra now for nearly a month now.
I've already spent £500.00 (cambelt/waterpump/tyres and Y shaped breather pipe).

When I changed the breatehr pipe do to it being split, and previous owner using gaffer tape. I found that the the Y and ajoining pipe work all sludge. She drives fine, but she has had an oil change so this shouldn't be the case.
I can only presume that the engine hasn't been "flushed" out, or is there another reason?

Also I'm changing some of the OEM pipes for silicone, coming off the header tank. There are two strange clips holding two of the three pipes, how do you get them off without breaking them?

I will take pictures to show you what I mean.

Oil sludge will coat the breather pipework over time. An oil change won't have any effect. The oil in the pipework is a mixture of oil fumes and other substances from the crankcase. Post up the picture of the clip. :)

most of the clips on the Leon are not reusable unfortunately.

You will need some decent quality jubilee clips instead.

Avoid cheap clips, as I discovered recently how bad they really are:doh:

Edit: Just checked my header tank and the hoses use good old spring clips :)

easily removed using swan neck pliers
