oil type for ibiza cupra`

What oil should I be using in the cupra? whats recommended by everyone on here?

I would stick to 5w-40, i'm using millers motorsport stuff just now.

Using VW Longlife3 oil 5w-30 seems fine. change mine every 3-4k anyways.

Sorry to bring this up again, but would you guys specifically not recommend 0w40 fully synth?

The first designation is it's weight properties when cold isn't it so for winter running it would prob be beneficial to run a bit thinner at cold?

Is Oilman on these forums?

shes going in for a massive service next wednesday including oil filter change so its not a problem, costing an arm and a leg though

doing

-40k service, sparks, oil filter all that stuff
-60k service including cambelt & waterpump change
-full check over

Yep, the top choice is for 0w-40 or 5w-40 synthetic, does not matter wich changed every 10,000 miles or there abouts.

Stick to a main/well known brand.

10/40 synta genuine seat vw oil i used in mine always done me proud

I use castrol edge 5W-30, cost about £50 for a full change (only 4 litre tubs so you need a 1L topup aswell)

and the writeup on the Castrol site and on the back of the tub says "Latest technology and specific formulation for modern Audi and VW engines"

Also Autodata list 5W-30 fully synth as the oil to use for 'ultimate protection' or something like that, on these cars.

How much oil does the Cupra take? I never thought it would need 5litres? I've only bought a 4litre tub -- buggers changing the size of the oil cans these days!!
