Basically coming back from being out for dinner and my oil warning light came on. Though was strange as keep everything topped up.

Next morning (as it was late when light came on) i topped up the oil checked the level, all fine. The light stayed on though.

Thought was strange so checked for leaks and checked the level again. I know the light can either be orange or red, the orange light is on still. Theres no weird feeling driving it, everything seems ok, the oil level is perfect, no leaks either.

Anyone got any ideas?

thanks

check your oil pump and pipes such as the oil pick up line for blockages. i remember that being a fault on TTs

My LC used to do this but after the re-map its never done it again i think it may have been a slight blockage and after the abuse it received on the rollers it cleared it. i have a oil pressure and temp gauge and neither showed any problems, it could also be a sensor.

Mine did this. I topped the oil up and the light was still on so I read about the dodgy bonnet switch. Dissconected battery to clear the light and it never came back on. Then the engine siezed due to low oil pressure. So as above check pick up pipes etc. If you dont know what your doing like me then get it to garage for oil pressue test!! RAPID
