Oily intercooler hose??

just noticed last night that i had a bit of oil gathering on the outside of the hose tht connects the too intercoolers together,any ideas??,cheers gaz

Most likely blowby residue. The standard breather system vents back into the inlet hose and the turbo forces this oily residue through the intercooler pipes.

Only cure is to fit an oil catch tank.

Could also be early signs of the oil seals in your turbo failing too.

More likely to be blowby which is very common.

check the intake from the breather hose where it goes into the air intake pipe, mine was very oily.

i just changed my intercooler, and my pipes were pretty oily. mines only done 23k so highly unlikely to be a turbo seal

is there a way to check turbo seal? you have much blue smoke?

Mines the same. Just cleaned it out and put it back on. Do it every now and then just to keep it clean as it does sometimes start to force out and get really mucky around the hose and on the inside of the splash guards.
