That's very childish to make a comment like that when you don't even know what I do for a living!! People that show off about there jobs often don't actually have that good a job and do it to make themselves feel better about themselves. The people with the good jobs don't feel compelled to show off ;)

Your last comment sums up every one of your posts this evening - taxi for one to scoobynet.com goodbye.....wahahahaha

OH FFS, if you had a pucker job - would you own a Leon.... bitch - I own a scooby, and my bitch (named Andy) loves it!!

XXXXX @ Xmas

Interesting post this ;) :D

No, but seriously if I could only get a job where I don't have to drive miles and miles (and therefore have to exist in a diesel Mondeo) I would be prepared to try owning a Scooby for a while to see what all the fuss is about. I've never driven a powerful 4WD car so it would be an experience. I still believe that the best handling cars all drive from the rear though ;).

I also think the Scooby flat four engine note is great. I know it usually signals that a chav is approaching, but I can't help liking it

It must be said that anyone contemplating a move from a TDi to a Scooby probably isn't interested in mpg figures. They'll know what they're letting themselves in for. It costs money to have power and performance along with a nice noise and good handling. I often think to myself that "if I sold both my cars I could afford..." and a Ferrari 348 is usually first on the list :D (and then I slap myself and try to think entrepreneureal thoughts...)

Thanks for the input guys.

Not really too concerned with the mpg figures at the minute, I've been driving mine hard where appropriate lately & only achieving around mid 30's anyway.

I'm assuming the scoob will be high 20's, low 30's ??

I'm at that point in my life where I'm young, have a good well paid job, and have no major commitments (except the bloody mortgage lol). So why not ?

Anyone know how much the services are for these ? I've mailed a local Subaru dealer, just waiting on a response.

Service charges are dependant on which service - my last on (3 year) cost me £220 - not much more than I payed for my LCR's service at 20k

Biggest problem is fuel - low 20s honestly - It might be better with a standard 220 bhp WRX though!

Cheers,

Mark.

My last email to your office bounced back with an away message - so here's what I said Chris

Only the Hawkeye’s are 2.5 litre 55 plate onwards I think– mine is a Blobeye like the one you are thinking of getting, thus 2 litre. Standard BHP on the WRX is 222 BHP, and the PPP will take it up to 265. This costs £1600 from any Subaru dealer – and does not affect the manufactures warranty. Insurance wise, there is not a lot of difference between the WRX and WRX-STI. The former is group 19 and the later is group 20a. If you drop the turbo which you get with the WRX / WRX-STI – and are happy with a normally aspirated 2 litre, have a look for all at the non-WRX Impreza.

Let me know how you get on!

Right - have decided for the sake of £2.5k to seek a new shape 2007 model

I fancy the grey colour. 2.5 WRX. Waiting for a price back on my car as we speak.....

Good choice. I really quite like that shape, much more aggressive and in character with the type of car it is than the previous versions with those nasty bug-eyed lights. They looked soft and weak.

Hope you find what you're after :)
