Hi,

My friends been having troubles with his car recently, 1.9TDi - The symptoms seem to be as if there's no boost from the turbo.

I offered to stick VAG-COM on it and check for faults and it returned none. So scratching my head I thought I'd check the basics like oil level. When I looked at the dip stick, he'd overfilled it by quite a lot  - it was about 1 litre over the max.
As he was overdue an oil change i drained the whole lot out and put some new stuff in.
Since the oil change, the performance hasn't improved. So what I'm wondering is, do you think it could have done some serious damage and is it likely to affect the turbo? Might it return back to normal after a few miles or is it nackered?

Apparently he's been driving around for 3 months with this amount of oil...

cheers

When I went for my 30k service the dealer overfilled with oil by quite a bit. The only thing I noticed was that when stoney installed the FMIC there was an unusual amount of oil in the SMIC.

Check the MAF seems like a good place to start for TDI lack of power. This also wont have a fault code.
