Over heating???

Hi,

i was driving down the motorway this afternoon and upon accelerating my lc was over heating and had no power at all, i mean no power, this was happening in every gear!!!
If i slowed down the temp dropped back to normal and i had power again.
Does anyone know of this before and could tell me what it could be. i dont want the dealer telling me completly different tomorrow when i pick it up!!!

Your water pump plastic propellers have broken.

Hopefully you still have warranty on your car, if not then its a cheap part, but labour to do it is lots as you have to do quite a bit of work to replace it (cam belt etc.etc).


do a search - TONS of info! very common problem.

yes under warrantythank god! it was a nightmare even getting them to look at it!!! stealers cant wait to get your money then they dont give a ****!!!

Some do, some dont.

If you'd asked here yesterday - we would have all told you to bung the dealer some ££ and get the water pump upgraded to brass propellers so it doesn't happen again, and also if your near 60,000 miles you could of got him to replace your cam belt seeing as he has to take it off to get to the water pump. That would of saved you lots of £££'s in the future.

theyhave given me loads of trouble since i brought the car a few months
ago, i went in today blocked the exit, (just before 5 ) i sat in there until they said i can have all the things done that was meant to be done then i brought it! they have given me a demo until it's sorted....
i'll call then tomorrow and tell them i want the brass pump, cam belt done and what ever else i can get out of them
