P0136 Fault Code

Hello Folks. I've had my 2016 FR 2.0d since new and had absolutely no issues with it until recently. EML came on so I scanned it and got p0136 fault code. I bought a new sensor and changed the old one out. After starting the car I got P0036 and P0136. Swapped the old one back in and P0036 has disappeared. Still left with P0136 though. Anyone any ideas before I head into a garage with it. Cheers in advance

What sensor did you replace? Seems to me that you replaced the wrong sensor maybe.

I replaced the one in the downpipe half way down

The only thing I can think of is that the P0136 code is there because of a wiring fault and that the new sensor you fitted may be faulty thus giving the P0036 code, just a thought though.

Do you have any VAG independent specialists near you? Have a go yourself, but I'd just take it to them. I've read too many posts of people trying to self-diagnose issues, spend a fortune on parts and get nowhere.

Thanks I dont think there are any locally unfortunately. Im on leave tomorrow. If I can't find anything that sticks out I'll see if I can get it into a garage somewhere

As said before the fault code relates to a malfunction in the circuit. You could check the wiring for continuety on the sensor if you feel up to the job. Did you use genuine replacement sensor?

Yeah it's a genuine sensor. I can check the wiring for continuity, I might get under for a look again tomorrow. I assume that bank 1 sensor 2 is the one further down the pipe next to bulkhead?

Yep should be. Check the connectors incase of dirty contacts.
