I went into halfords last night about some paint, but i only found high temperature colour paint, they dont have the high temp primer or laquer and they only have red or black colour! Taking a trip to b&q tomorrow after work see what they got in stock ;)

listen to me, use enamel paint as it can be bought in gloss so dont need the laquer

I agreee, i sprayed calipers with halfords vht red spray paint ( hate halfords but its all i could get at 7pm) and it looked like red chalk, so went back and complained it was shite, got some engine paint in replacement and some caliper paint too, used both and cant really complain, just needs about four coats of paint, its real watery stuff, looks good finish in the end.

Ok guys unless you want your car smelling of burning laquer, dont paint your exhaust heat shield with laquer. Use enamal paint like crezz said!!

You should keep on top of it then cleaning it wise, as i polished the heatshield and engine cover on my old mk2 and it was a pain to keep rust free.

Im going to get enamel paint to do it aswell. For 2 reasons a) i can get hold of it without having to travel 20 miles and b) crezz used it and has had no problems, I mean just look at his engine bay!!

Oh and I'm Scottish aswell.

Erm i know this sounds silly but there is a better noise coming from my car since i fitted the cold air feed, i dunno wether this is because of it or not. I didn't think it would make any difference at all.
