painting a grill with chrome surround

Im not very knowledgable about paiting stuff and need some advice. Basically i want the centre grill surround and the 'S' to be black. How do i go about painting it? i assume that the chrome finish needs removing, if so how do i do this?

The S badge just pops out. Just rough it up a little with some wet and dry paper then just primer and pain.

Little hint, only put on 'just' enough paint to cover otherwise you will have problems getting the S bit back in.

Hi mate,

If you wait until I collect my 54 reg Ibiza up on Sunday, I'll swap you the black grill off that for a standard one with the chrome surround and badge? That'd save us both a few quid and a bit of effort perhaps?
