parcel shelf- string clip snapped

the tyre garage kindly snapped the plastic nipple off the pillar that the parcel shelf string clips into, so now only one side of the shelf lifts when you open the boot. Does anyone know if i can buy the clip or do i need to replace the whole pillar?

yup, you can buy them, mine pinged out on its own and i lost it. Just went to the dealers and asked for one. Apparently it is really common and they hold them in stock. Think i paid like 50p for it.

so if thats the case can the normal type strings be replaced with the retractacle type from early LC/LCR 210's?

retractable string from stealers about £6-£10 each side and then maybe a biggerhole in the parcel shelf
they just glue on underneath

Had one of mine replaced at a service, cost 25p or thereabouts, and the guy said, "We only charged you for the part, not for labour/fitting charges" like they had done me a favour!!
