Yeah that's a good point actually.

Mind, the cars in England are in very good condition compared to the ones in Spain! When in Majorca I regularly see spanish drivers just bumping off each other's cars when parking. I even saw someone, believe it or not, bump a car along half a metre so they could park properly!

I don't think we'll ever be in the Spanish league but I do think it's a lack of care due to the person not actually owing the car. That's my theory anyway.

Just noticed somebody has dented my car passenger side door. Black mark. Must have been a car door. Might have happened when we had the strong winds. Who knows !!!!

Maybe it's dent removal firms going round doing it on purpose to drum up business.

Mine was done twice in my secure (key card access) car park, gutted.

As said I will always park miles away or like a "c_nt" still get people parking close to me.

I think a lot of the problem is that it seems like everyone has either a car on motability or a lease car that they know isn't theirs and they know they will give back after 3 years so don't give a damn.

My car is a Motability car and can assure you I take very good care of it inside and out and just for your information Motability give back £200 for returning the car in good condition.

So all these non owners putting all these dents in other people’s cars are unbelievable unless of course you’re a Daily Mail reader.

I wonder if the **** who let their B & Q brick trolley roll down the car cark to leave a Grand Canyon gash in the seals of my car[:@] when it was 2 days old was on Motability too.

This doesn't mean that you're representative of all who run a Motability car though.

I think the point was that people who take car of their car are in a small minority to start with, and I would wager that the number of people take care of a car that isn't "theirs" is even smaller - but just by being on here it's a good sign that you would look after your car!

Assuming everyone is of your mindset, and let's be honest they aren't.

How many times have you heard someone say "I don't care it's not mine" (not just relating to cars but anything) people by and large do tend to care less about something that isn't actually theirs and aren't always as careful.

I'm also not suggesting that anyone who has a car on Motability/lease couldn't care less and are purposely going round damaging any car they come across so let's be realistic fella.

Don't take my theoretical view as being a direct attack on everyone who has a car on lease/Motability, my point was purely that some people don't care and when you combine that attitude with someone who has a car that isn't actually theirs then it just makes things worse.

I always park right away in the far corner where possible. I didn't get any dings on my Leon but I did pick one up on my Golf before, whilst sitting in my car. Zafira family parked next to me and kid bashed their door into my car, got out and the mother told me to f off.

I wanted to cut her brake lines.

I've even got my wife parking the car miles away from the entrances to try and save it from getting dented :(

Now I know why every car park is full of Seats parked at the back, it's all of us! lol :)

The amount of time it takes for me to 'chose' a space often amuses my friends.

The dealership have given me a free smart insurance policy when I bought my lcr, basically if I get a scratch chip dent etc I take a photo on the iPhone and register it in an app and a mobile paint guy comes and repairs it! Rather cool, but hope I won't need to use it!

I had some one park next to me and bash the door on my mx5 a few years ago, when I said to the chap that he had just damaged my car he told me to f off and that when he gets back if I'm still there he would ram my car!... So when he walked away I took both his door mirrors off (genuinely carefully with a screwdriver from my tool kit, So that I wasn't a thug or causing criminal damage) and set them on the ground by his rear wheels. The next day I drove my Clio to work so not to be spotted, needless to say there was broken mirror pieces in the spot! Arrogant dumb ass!

I can't believe that after reading and commenting on this today some has smacked their door against my car at work today! I got the person who owns the car to from one of the other companies in building to come down. She said it wasn't her and she is always very careful. So I said well if we open your door and check it should prove it wasn't her. Eventually she agreed to go and get her keys. When she opened it it was a perfect match but she just kept saying, honestly it wasn't me I would have know if I'd done that blah blah. I know it was her but what could I do!!

Problem is it's a dint in the door and it's also taken some paint off! I'm gutted :(

Anyone know anyone that fixes door dings with paint touch up in Cheshire?

I'd be making the c**t pay for it?

If she refuses then I would damage her car

Simple as that mate

Make her pay up, maybe in future she will have respect for other peoples property

Unfortunately no real proof, unless it was someone witnessed it or it was on camera I can't really force her to pay. :(

When I first went self employed I had a old escort van . Tatty old thing it was , but still it was my van . Parked up in sainsburys and a merc pulled up next to me . Fairly new ! Nice gun metal grey !
She opened her door and ' bang ' right into the side of my van .
Wound the window down to be told ( snobby , up her own arse moo ) ' it's only a old van '.
That Royal pissed me off , so ......... Opening my door ( nice and hard ) smacked it into her car door . Looking at me in disbelief and mouth wide open , I replied ' it's only a merc ' .
Shut door and drive off . Never heard anything more about it . Did expect a knock from a PC plod , but never did .
