PD130 Cambelt Change - Anything to be aware of?

Tried searching, but it seems that people usually get the cambelt changed at the dealer, so I'm not sure if the info is there to be found , but i'm hoping that one of you has done this before and may have a little info etc.

Anyway, I have all the bits to change the cambelt, water pump (with a metal impeller, using the search , found that the SEAT use a plastic one as standard ) and tensioner pulley.

Now before my mechanic and I set about changing the above,
are there any special tools required ?
is there anything specific which could catch us out that we should be aware of?

my mates a mechanic and i got them through his trade account (25% ish discount) from the local car spare parts outlet (not the stealers!)

off the top of my head about £140 for all 3, as i don't have the paperwork with me,

IIRC:-
cambelt £53 (at the time i thought thats pricey, but its probably the widest & longest cambelt i have ever seen!)
water pump £35
tensioner pulley was iirc about £50 / £60

those are the 25 (ish) % discounted prices btw

dread to think what these parts would be over the counter at the stealers

Probably an arm and a leg! Actually make that both legs and an ear!

not sure on the PDs if you need a tool to lock the pump/cam when you change the belt? i know thats the case on the non pds

The day to change all the above is tomorrow, so any last tips, tricks or general things to do / not do would be greatly appreciated!

there is 2/ maybe 3 special tools needed, 1 locks the crank, 1 to lock the cam and you might need 1 for the tensioner depending which sort your car has and the parts would of been cheaper from the dealers

job done!

took 2 & 1/2 hours, mainly down to the amount of stuff you have to take off to get to the cambelt!
