Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has taken there pedal box out and had a problem with the steering column being attached to it? I don't have a clue what to do with the steering column and how to get it off the pedal box shaft. Any help as soon as would be nice :) ta

Don't worry just found alpinewhites guide! is really helpfull :D and also can you really get the pedal box off without taking the brake pedal out? there is a nut above the brake servo thing and is really hard if not impossible to get to.

Was just about to point you to my thread - glad it's of some use :)

Obviously you have the take the brake pedal off of the pivot shaft but you don't need to disconnect it from the servo rod. You can just about wiggle the pedal box off, passing the brake pedal through the large circular hole at the back of the pedal box.

There are a couple of difficult bolts IIRC, but they're all possible to take out!

well, what can i say. That has to be the most frustrating and time consuming job i have ever done. And im still not finished. Had to order some new shear bolts and a retaining clip. But apart from that its all done.

All back together just waiting on some clips for the shaft that goes through all the pedals. I got a massive blister after putting the clutch spring in.

Got a slight problem. Started the engine all seemed fine. Turned the wheel and the horn started going off randomly. Don't know whether i have accidently damaged a wire whilst i was doing the pedal box. Will have to have a good look. At the moment am having a quick break from the car. Phew.

Quick work, well done that man. Maybe you have a wire tangled up somewhere. I ended up with a system of screwdrivers acting as levers and guides to get the spring back in!

Yeah i cant even touch my thumb it hurts so much. Hopefully it is just a trapped wire cba to get my soldering iron out now lol. You reckon that was quick lol? it feels like its been weeks.

Im hoping tomorow those clips will go on easily enough, they didn't wanna come off very easy :S

Just been back through my thread, took me 7 days from start to finish! So yeah, compared to me it was pretty quick! Mind you, I worked for a few hours in the morning and few hours in the afternoon each day, so I don't know how many actual hours it took!

I think i worked in it for about 3 hours on monday night, about 4 hours yesterday and about an hour today. so about 8 hours in total haha.

I did indeed, cheers for that. Helped so much. You got any tips on putting them clips back on?

Glad it seems to make this job a bit easier!

I think there's quite a bit on info on changing the pedal box now as a couple of people have done em recently :)

Found out what the beeping problem was, when i took the steering wheel off the cable that goes to the airbag came out of its housing. I put the sttering wheel back on and obviously where the cable is making the housing stick out this is also making the contact for the horn stick out. This is the only thing i can think it is. As i started the car without the steering wheel on and tested everything and there was no beeping.

Just had a look and it seems i have to wrap all the cable around the housing which is gonna take me all night :/ not best pleased with myself lol.
