Hmm yeh i understand your point, but i would like something that says something...and my name J3MES sells at £124,000 - think i might look rather silly sticking that on a £5k car! Oh and the funds don't quite strech to that amount.

I'm still really tempted by Craig's plate his selling.
I plan on keeping this car a while now while i save up for a house, so...

I put my plate up for sale today...for £8k lol

You can have it for £7k mate ;)

seeing this thread has actually made me consider a plate, as they do make any car look better.

JIMYU - is that website the real deal, and can the newer style plates ie.

Two letters - two numbers - 3 letters

be taken from car to car?

how do you mean is it the real deal? it's a website that sells number plates yes..

You can put any plate on your car, as long as it does not make it look newer than it is... ie. you can't put a 2002 number plate on a 2001 car, but you can put a 2001 plate on a 2002 car..

lol, i absolutly hate being called 'Jim' or 'Jimmy' lol!

I think the GF might have something to say if i go and spend £8k on a plate when were meant to be saving for a house!!

Does look good though! And its yours for life unless you sell it, its not personalised to your car if you get me.

Mines is R 20VT J because my name is ross jamieson and the car is a 20 valve turbo. keeping the car long enough so thought it was worth the money. was only 250 because it should read R20 VTJ. never been done for the spacing.

I got C4 PRA on mine and the 4 is completely none standard to look more like a U, ive never had any interest from the poo-lice *Touching Wood* ... would sell it if anyone is interested...*Offers?

Be careful on spacing/making letters look different.

frequently the boys and girls in blue do a crack down when they got nothing else better to do!!!!

i got £30 fine last month for having an Audi badge where the euro GB should have been!!!!
Stu

i know what you mean when they get bored and have a crack down, i had two spaces gap instead of the normal 1 and got pulled 3 times in 3 weeks for it, police made a killing on me that month, not had any other trouble other than that month and ive had the plate on 8months.
The police were goin out of there way to get me, once i was waiting to pull out of a roundabout as they went round it, they went off a different way, 5 mins later they had come after me taken over everyone and pulled me :censored:[:@]

My plate is SJ02 OVT spaced to say SJ0 20VT. Could be for sale if the price is right......

:D

tbh I hate it when I see plates that have been made to look like something they're not with strategically placed bolts and dodgy fonts etc - I think they're the ones who deserved to get pulled as they're mis-representing the plate itself. I don't see a big issue if people move the odd spacing here and there and tbh a copper has to have had a bad day to pull you just for that, but it does happen.

When I see plates with dodgy bolts etc it's almost as if they're trying too hard to make the plate read something it isn't. Private plates can be expensive but I'd recommend holding out for one that really fits the bill (at the right price obviously) as the last thing you want to be doing is explaining to everyone what it is supposed to read - it should be obvious from a glance or else you're just wasting money - unless of course all you're bothered about is disguising a car's true age.

Not sure if C9 PRA and C7 PRA are still available as I was looking at these a few months ago?

im just waiting on all the paper work coming through then i can get my number plate on my leon cupra, it's P22ROC as my last name is Proctor but i am known as Proc, it was a very nice wedding present from my wife!:D
