also might of made an error in the original post & on petition. I believe the years were from 1998-2006 and not 2000-2005, but all irrelevant it still covers the same car anyway.

Just to shed some light on the situation. Ive been talking to Haynes directly who have recently responded to an email i sent. It looks like were not going to get a haynes manual but i've tried iam not giving up just yet, everyone still keep signing too

Dear John,

Thank you for your e-mail, which has been passed to me.

For a Haynes manual to be viable we need to be sure of selling enough copies to make a profit. At the risk of stating the obvious, manual sales are related to the number of vehicles sold. As a rule of thumb we need upwards of 100,000 of a particular model on the road in the UK before we will consider producing a manual for it. The number of Mk I Seat Leon models on the road as of December 2009 was just over 49,000 (DVLA figures). By way of contrast we are currently working on manuals for the Vauxhall Corsa 06 on (vehicle population 286,990), the Audi A3 03 – 08 (141,608) and the Vauxhall Vectra 05 – 09 (149,149). You may also have noticed that we have recently published a manual on the Seat Ibiza 02 – 08 (119,874).

This is not necessarily to say that we will never publish a manual for the Mk I Leon, but I have to say that for the moment at least it looks unlikely.

I expect you are already aware that there is some coverage of Leon engines and associated systems in other Haynes manuals for VAG models, as follows:

VW Golf (1998 to 2000) manual number 3727 for 1.4 litre (engine code APE), 1.6 litre 16v (AUS) & 1.8 litre non-turbo (AGN) petrol engines. The VW Golf (2001 to 2003) manual number 4169 will cover 1.4 litre (AHW, AXP & BCA), 1.6 litre 100bhp (AEH & AKL), 1.8 litre turbo (AUQ) petrol engines & 1.9 litre TDi 90bhp (AGR & ALH), 1.9 litre TDi 110bhp (AHF & ASV) & 1.9 "PD" 150bhp (ARL) diesel engines. The Audi A3 manual number 4253 will cover 1.8 litre non-turbo (APG) and 1.8 litre turbo (AJQ, APP & ARY) petrol engines. The VW Passat manual number 3917 will cover 1.8 litre turbo (APT) petrol engine. Other engine codes are NOT covered.

Sorry not to be of more encouragement.

Regards

Just done a google search to see if I could find a Jaynes manual and this thread was at the top of the search. It's a bit of a bummer that we haven't got one.
