Pic request - 6k and 8k HIDs

hi all sorry if this has been covered before but im wanting to order a set of HIDs for my cupra. but I cant decide what looks better as i like the idea of the crisp white light with a slight blue tinge as well. Some peoples 6ks look perfect to me but on other pics they look just white, if anyone has any pics of theirs then that would really help me out before ordering thanks

6000K is definitely not pure white, there is a tint of blue in them. I think you are more likely to get in a bit of trouble with the 5-0 if you have got 8000k because they are quite heavily tinted blue.
It also depends on where you buy your kit from, my mates 6000's are slightly darker blue/purple compared to mine which are more towards the light blue/ greeny side.
I know its pics you asked for but its hard to get an accurate colour through a camera lens

yeah i know what you mean about not getting an accuarate coulor representation of a picture, although looking at your pic there bud thats pretty much what im after, i think the 8ks can look good but like you say i could see the police giving ya some chew over them, so i think 6ks it is thanks for the help bud

damn it aimez id almost decided on 6ks there till i saw your 8s i hate decisions lol although i must admit i think the 6ks in yours tkjeeves look really nice and crisp. Well ive got two more days till payday to decide haha, cheers for all the pics guys and girls

I've got 6000k's and never had any problems with the being stopped by the cops. No one is bothered as long as they don't dazzle oncoming traffic. There's more important things going on in the world!!

Get them aligned after you fit them I did and they were too high!

mine are 6000k, i've seen about 2 cars with 8000k on them, you can definitely tell its 8000k, theres not as much light and it is really quite blue. I think 6000k is the perfect blend between bright light and blue tint... but it comes down to personal preference at the end of the day.

Why don't people ever put them in their full beam, can you still flash people?

I think 5000k is the whitest and brightest (dont quote me on that!)

6000k is bright with a little blue tint.

8000k and beyond is very blue and 10000k is verging on purple and not very bright at all.

I saw a Honda Accord with 6000k dipped and 8000k front fogs. It looked the business

It would cost waaaay to much to have them all and alot or wires& ballasts under the bonnet (especially in a diesel no space as it is) and alot more strain on the car too I imagine powering them? Mine are powered direct from the battery thou. No point having them on full beam as they take a little time to warm up and obviously full beam in on /off all the time. If you have that much money to burn maybe do something else, maybe LED inside the car or some other mods?

^^ As mentioned the HID's take time to warm up so wouldn't work well as Full Beams.

Although for the single reflector version of the Ibiza headlights like mine there are kits (which are a touch more expensive) that have a shield that partially covers the bulb, when you flash the shield retracts and you get the full beam flash.

HID and LED both use less power than the bulbs they replace.

HID typically use only 35w to replace a 55w bulb and provide better light.

LED typically use less than 1w to replace a 21w bulb.
