just thought id say... isnt the right (drivers) heater vent in the wrong way? (ie. the illuminated bit should be on the right, towards the window?)

dont think my vent illuminate, its an 2001 lc was it only in later models?

Duh... they only illuminate when you fit S3 ones hence the question

No, only on facelift models..

Thats the way the come im afraid, same on s3's, you get used to it after a few days

Wiring was straight forward, take feed from rear window heater switch for the passenger and centre vents, take feed from dash light dimmer for the drivers side one, this way they dim with all the other dash lights..........

Thats not the way they fit on S3's! I have them in my S3 and the illuminated part is on the right hand side.

hmmm - well compared to my std leon vents they are the SAME way around - seems weird but they won't go in the other way up - i can see that from looking at it!

what if you switched the passenger side one for the drivers would that swap the illuminated piece to the other side?

Actually my mistake. Just checked my car and the illuminated wheel is on the inner side (left hand side) so the pics above are correct.
