I was watching QVC the other day and in the car section, they were selling a device called a PILOT GREEN. It's basically a magnet which attachs around the fuel line going TO the engine. It's a fuel saver, but also helps to improve performance etc. I don't have the leaflet details with me unfortunately, fits all petrol/diesel cars.
Anyway, they were selling them for £30, but I found loads of them at the QVC Outlet Shop in Birchwood Shopping Mall (Warrington) for £15 with 30day refund guarantee.
Is this likely to work, or a con? I've fitted it I assume to the correct pipe (question below). You fit it as close to injectors as possible.
** TDI owners, which is the correct fuel pipe TO the engine? I have a black pipe and a clear pipe. I've attached it to the clear pipe. Correct? ***
Warmed the engine up and booted it around. I *think* it feels more responsive. Not sure if just psycological (sp?) or not? I could have it attached to the wrong pipe. If I have it does nothing....
For £15, bit of a bargain and I can take it back it find it doesn't work. If it's likely to cause problems it will be removed straight away.
My Dad has also bought one and installed on his new Ford Mondeo 1.8(petrol). He's been running Shell Unleaded/Optimax, but last few tanks have been normal Shell unleaded. He initial thoughts were it *feels* like running with Optimax
Your feedback appreciated
