pipe melting foolery

Successfully fitted a boost gauge a few weeks back (after being sent a duff one first off). The tube thingy which i've run off the vacume pipe to the gauge keeps melting at the point where it joins the t-pice. wrapping it in tin foil isn't helping
Any else had this problem - need a solution as running out of tube

i have heard that mounting it near the fuel pressure regulator is also a poss!

yeah i heard that as well, but i'm mechanicaly obtuse and the words'fuel' and the thought of me cutting didn't sound to good.
