The pipe in angled down when it should have just continued straight, you can see from the angle of the down pipe that it is still coming down and not straight but i couldnt pack the mount any higher with out the exhaust hitting the floor, make the new one straight, problem no 1 solved, i also have the rubbing around the fuel tank its very close to the heat shield, there is space there to move it further away.

Well guys , Piper eventually sent me a replacement centre section which although it looks slightly different it also doesnt fit properly! still rubs on the bracing bar as Phillc's would if the mount wasnt spaced.

Dont fancy waiting another 6 months for them to sort this so giving up now and im am going to get it modified locally to fit properly.

Although the new part was supposed to be the same as the previous one i had, the mounting bar was at a different angle...

That's just not acceptable, the service has been nothing short of shocking! They've had plenty of time to get this sorted yet it's still on going, very disappointing. I will certainly look else where when i buy my exhaust.

lol they were all over the forum like a rash with the initial large group buy.
Now you don't hear a peep from them. I'd be pissed if I'd spent that much on a 'quality' exhaust over the competition with fitment and aftersales like this.

I have been looking for a cat back system for my cupra and was thinking of the piper system as I had read on here it was designed for the car, now after reading this topic I am definitely thinking twice. For an extra £20-£30 I can get a scorpion system so I think I know where my money's heading

ive been wandering what system was fitted on my lcr, as i couldn't find a name plate. the car belonged to greg r84 previously and have just found out that its a piper system, i was looking into getting a sports cat/downpipe? can i fit a different brand dp and sports cat without modding. I too suffer from a slight vibrating noise where metal hits metal, but since reading this i feel the need to have a gander underneath and see what can be done. i had slight surface rust on the backbox tip but was rectified using wire wool and metal polish. an evo7 is on the cards for the summer but fancied completing my stage 2 set up before selling her on.

I had this problem on my LC ( i have the LCR cat back system) so i jacked the mounts up by putting four washers under the mounts, you can just see them on the pic.

looks like no centre box.... sorry if im wrong whats it sound like???

Any more news on this at all?

On a side note, I've noticed that the Piper Cat-back uses a rather small rear box, about as big as the OE mid silencer, does this make it very loud and pop/bang a bit?

My 1st LCR had a full Piper turbo back system with the 3" downpipe/200 cell cat.. It sounded awesome Jason. More up your street than a Milltek if I'm honest. Burbles alot, pop's a bit on downchanges and is noticeably louder than my Milltek I have now. I would put it down to the rear silencer which is definitely smaller than mine! I remember looking underneath mine on my 1st LCR and thinking that's a rather tiny silencer..

No fitting problems for me and it did sound meatier than my Milltek for sure. I probably still prefer the noise if I'm honest, but my Milly hasn't sooted right up yet and is getting louder all the time.. ;)
