Anyone used Plasti Dip to change the colour of their dash (plastic around CD player/climate control unit)? Just bought a FL climate control unit which has some damage on the plastic so I'm after painting the dash black.

Thanks.

Not on my Leon, but I've used plastidip previously on a car dash, it's ok where there is a low chance of scuff and scratches, but it does give that softer kind of finish rather than hard paint.

It would need painting anyway as the FL fascias are a different shade to the pre fl. I would be interested to see it plastidipped though.

I personally painted mine Satin Black. I imagine the plasti dip will leave an uneven surface, sort of rough like.

Mines lovely and smooth, and glare-free :)

Did you remove your interior parts?? If so can you explain how?? I have the paint ready just wanna be able to take out the interior and can you post a pic of yours??

CD panel just pops off, then under that you've got about 4-5 screws holding the air vent/upper plastic part. Then when that's off theres another 2 screws for the speedo surround along the edge and the speedo surround then pops off :)

Just in case anyone needs to know for the older models like mine, popping off the panels is only for the facelift models, prefacelift need radio keys (improvised or genuine).
