Plastic Bonnet Protectors

Cupra Arghhhhh
Hello there! I've just got back from Austrailia (look at me) and was shocked to see that they have every car other than any Seats. Loads of Golf GTI's, Scoobys, Skodas - even more big engined japanese Skylines etc etc - and I actually started to like their Ford V8 Uuts (spelling) with chrome 22's on them!

Anyway - back to the tread title - on every other car there seemed to be these plastic bonnet protectors that actually looked ok, well in comparison to some of the images I've seen of Leons in bras:wtf:

Here's what they look like:

Anyone know whether this (or anything similar) is available for the Leon? Anyone seen them or enquired about them? I'm sick for getting 2mm circular stone chips in that sweet stone magnet at the front of my car!

Cheers

Matt

Yeah - your right - but I don't know if you have any stone chips on your bonnet, but thats where they seem to strip the paint on my car - literally on the front lip. Front bumper has them, but no undercoat showing down there

I thought they were air deflectors rather than anything to do with stone chips sort of like the ones you can get for the windows.

So you can drive with the windscreen out?

I don't see the point really. Protecting a small part when the rest of the front bumper and bonnet gets equally chipped (in my case anyway). And it looks ghastly.

Carbon fibre eh? Alright for some. I'm waiting for technology of self healing paint. Sort of like semi organic polymer self healing displays, but paint! Anyone on here want to be rich and like inventing?

so did anyone ever find one? i think the only solution is a bonnet bra. which suit some tastes astheticaly and some not so much. the problem being they can tend to trap moisture underneath and ABSOLUTELY RUIN your paint.

and as above nissan will soon be rolling out cars with scratch resistant paint. as soon as you see the damage, boil a kettle, pour it over and wham bam no more scratch. i wonder if you can get it after sale?
