Pollen filter, where is it?

I'm no mechanic, but I thought even I would be able to change a filter. I bought a pollen filter for my 2005 Cordoba 1.9 TDI 130HP and was told that it fitted into a compartment under the bonnet, near the screen. Try as I might I can't find any compartment or anywhere that a filter might fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm hoping that the new filter will solve a condensation problem that I'm having when the ECON mode is on. If it doesn't I'm told it could well be a heater matrix leak??

I have done both my mk2 Ibiza and Cordoba, they are both here, under the scuttle tray in the engine bay.

The conclusion

let us know where it was lol once u find it.

The filter is located beneath and behind the glove box and runs parallel to the centre console. The filter slides up into the "box" and is held in place by a lid which is, in turn, secured by screws and clips.

I visited my local mechanic/contortionist, who, luckily has a black belt seventh dan (don't ask me what happened to the other six) in Yoga, and he was able to change the filter for me.

Upon opening the compartment half a sycamore tree and two bales of hay fell out on to the mat. He then removed a blackened object which he assured me was the old filter, to be honest it looked as if it had fossilized. I paid for a replacement filter on a service 17,000miles ago, but if was ACTUALLY changed I would be astounded, let's face it there is no way I could have checked. Perhaps the mechanic couldn't find where to put it, but then he should have come on here.

Anyway, thankfully the new filter seems to have done the trick and the misting problem, touch wood, has gone. Thanks once again, all of you, for all your help.

Can I just ask what your misting problem is as i seem to be having a slight condensation problem myself.

this caught my eye - dont know if its just me but i have driven the whole SEAT range thru my job and all suffered really badly from misted windows unless the a/c was on. I reckon its poor cabin ventilation ie poor design rather than anything specifically wrong :(

my Leon Mk1 was not bad at all but i have noticed the Altea steams up slightly, i usually keep the windscreen vents on all the time now.

The filter is defo in the passenger footwell - Had the same problem in my 06 cordy. Thing is, you don't realise how much the windscreen vents deteriorate until you take out/replace the filter and try it again.

And you will need to bend in ways you didn't think possible to get good access to it!!!
