pollution light

my pollutio light has come on in my 04 plate se diesel is this any threat to the engine as i need the car all weekend plus its a bank holiday and my local dealer is shut??help please anyone??

It could be any number of things.... most of which are nothing to do with pollution!

It's basically a 'you have a problem' light that comes on with some simple problems, but also comes on when you have a more serious issue. It could be nothing - just a dodgy sensor throwing up odd readings. But it could be something more serious that needs to be checked out straight away. So get it checked ASAP and be careful when driving, just in case it's a bigger problem.

well last time it was a reading that the fuel was going in too hot and the bloke said its ok to drive and nothing to worry about but i was just wondering if anyone had the same problem!!trouble is cant get it looked at now till tuesday
the car seems to run fine with no noises or anything but yeah ill take it easy

VAG-COM is a diagnostic tool (software on a laptop via a specific cable) that can scan for fault codes, clear them or help you work out exactly what's going on. If you don't have it, there is a Help Requests forum section in the VAG-COM section that you can use to ask for help

That's good that it's not serious. Good job you got it checked out though before your car started playing funny buggers.

well i am very careful and if i did not need the car believe me it would have stayed on the drive but sods law said i needed it to do 300 mile over the weekend and it was a bank holiday but such is life
