I really dont know how some people get such high milage.
I only usually see 320 from a tank, although ive never took it far beyond the fuel light so would probs push 350, thats mostly town driving....

The OP cares, as he obviously has a problem with his car that he wants help with.

Sadly the thread has descended into "I can manage 5mpg if I drive like a tw@t" and "who cares about MPG" type posts, which don't help at all, and are now making the OP's thread a candidate for the scrapyard

Ok fair enough.

I've stated my point and I'll leave it as that.

If you continue to worry, work out, and justify your mpg, it will annoy you each and every time. Tbh, I think unless theres a geniune problem (take in into a Indy or dealer) and have it fully checked over. If they find a fault with something or other, very worthwhile getting it fixed.

If not, my advice is to stop worrying and put to the back of your mind!

Old fashioned advice, the best way to see if your car is using too much fuel, which is basically overfuelling, is to take the plugs out and have a look at them.

If they are black, then you are using too much fuel.

Then its check air filter (dirty, restricted), air intake pipes and throttle body (ensure its clean).

Sorry also mines been playin up with different probs for a couple of months.
Its at last been sorted im so pleased.
I would start lookin at the air intake also .

I used to get 400 out of my 1.2 aswell!

i get 600 miles to a tank on my FR
