Had my 550F struts and scirocco bump stops on for a month now and still work well! I'm sure you'll have no problems...
The struts have got easier to close too so its all gooooood! :D

would it be possible to get a list, including part numbers, of the bits and pieces you have used for your car? and quite possibly somewhere i could order them from.

i have spent quite a few quid now on products that promise to deliver, but don't. im fed up wasting money. yours seems to be working for you, so i'll try the parts you've used. and if it doesnt work, i'll give it up as a bad idea. cheers mate.

My struts are a bit on the weak side anyway so will definately be giving this a try, just as soon as I work out how to reprogram the boot to pop.

I have all of the original invoices and bags.
I will post tomorrow the VW part numbers for the stops and gas strut part numbers for you to search and order from where you like.

Cheers for that mate. Greatly appreciated, I might get somewhere with it now.

Just noticed that the boot does pop slightly open when I hold the button, as opposed to just unlocking it with one quick click. Id also be very interested in this mod. Get the part numbers posted :)

Sorry for the delay...

I used: 550F struts and the scirocco bumpers.

Part number for the bumpers: 1k8 827 761d. I got them from Trade Parts Specialist (TPS), £4.50 each.

The struts i got were from SGS engineering. I've had a good experience with them. Here is the link: http://www.sgs-engineering.com/gas-.../octavia/gsc2152-skoda-octavia-tailgate-strut

So it cost me £9 for the bumpers, £21.95 for the struts. £30.95 in total. :)

Ah well hopefully they'll soften up after a while.

Apologies, I forgot I'd changed them as they were too powerful. Check my quote below from the other thread to see what I got :)

Cool mod indeed. I want to see vids of peoples boots launching cuddly toys into the air. :)

Warning.

Be careful in multi story car parks because your boot may be damaged my low ceilings etc.
