I'm on my 4th Leon now;

X-reg LC - had both a trip computer and boot light
W-reg 20v SE - no trip computer, but had boot light
02' LC - no trip computer, but had boot light
51' TDI SE - has both a trip computer and boot light

My brother's got a 51' 1.6s as well - no trip computer, but has a boot light.

So some early LC's had the trip computer - but I've never seen a Leon without a boot light?

I've never seen one without a clock as well? If you're not getting temp or a clock on the screen beneath the rev counter, then summat's up.

Ok had a really good poke about in the boot, their is a piece of black material stuck over a hole underneath the side piece that the parcel shelf sits on, on the left hand side, next to a vent, assume that's where the boot light was, pulled it off, but don't see any wiring, but may have fallen down behind, as long as their is wiring and the boot switch works , I can fix that, but why ffs would you cover the hole up.

Re the clock, in the rev counter I have an outside temp display, above which I have a no ( 131 which never changes ) no clock like digits in between the no's, take it that's my clock that doesn't work, is it hard to replace just that display, or complete set of clocks required ?

Post a pic if you can can't recall the clock ever being mentioned as faulty.

01 and no trip pc here.... too scary. Did have boot light but disconnected due to battery drain.

Should have a clock! I've never ever seen one without one!
And I've sold 30+ mk1 Leon's!
Even my ratty yellow one has one! And that's a w plate!

Fuel computer tends to talk utter b0ll0cks anyway so not having it really doesn't make that much difference

Glad to say my '51 Cupra doesn't have one!

Okey dokey been out playing, disconnected battery for a few minutes, when reconnected the clock display is unfrozen, and now seems to work. got it set and all is ok at the mo, when I was fitting my stereo in it, the battery went flat, think it prob needs a new one before winter proper as it went flat awful quick, anyway jumped it from the rally car, wonder if that upset the clock, just a thought.
