My car seriously needs a set of front wishbone bushes (front and rear). Lots of play in the wheel when pulled rear and aft. My question is would I be better off going for a set of Powerflex bushes or the OEM Cupra ones? Powerflex comes to about £70 on motorsportworld.co.uk.

Any help much appreciated!

Cheers in advance!

Not too bothered about a harder ride, just gettin a bit sick of no responsive turn-in, quite laggy at the mo!

Are you running standard bushes at the front?

Yeh thats what ive got and any vag tuner will agree with me. Think they were £6 each and yes i went to the dealers

You'll definately notice a difference because the sport bushes are terrible!

The dealer will sell you the correct ones - just ask for the Ibiza Cupra TCA bushes - the p/n starts with 6LL - you can find the rest of the info on sites like www.briskoda.net as they have been using them for a LONG time. You might also want to buy the "assembling lubricant" as the Cupra bush is sleeved in aluminium and the console it fits into is aluminium!!! In case you did not know, all of these VAG cars on this platform (except the Audi A2) use voided bushes - its only the Cupra that gets the correct solid bush. Unless you are really keen and have f'd the small front bush, I'd just change the rear one - the front one is part of the TCA that is why you can only replace it with aftermarket or maybe an Audi A2 one. Finally getting this work done, if you take the TCAs off the car will mean getting a four wheel alignment done - which might be a good thing to do anyway if only to correct any pot hole induced problems or factory mis-alignment. Proper VAG indep specialist can sort all of this out.

Not sure if i'll be able to find it, as soon as I mentioned it to SEAT they knew what I wanted as its a popular mod and they had them on the shelf :D I just asked for front wishbone rear cupra bushes.

If i find it i'll let you know!

What a response I wasn't expecting that much information. That'll see me right. Popped to Seat in Huddersfield and they had no idea what I wanted, having the part number for the fron-rear bushes should speed things up a bit!

Cheers:funk:
