Just recently after having my track rod replaced the garage mentioned that my bushes were pretty worn & recently i can hear the play in the suspension because of them whilst driving.

But my question to you, do i go for powerflex bushed all round (£100, arb, frt/rr bushes on frt wishbones).

Or

Can you get cupra bushed all round (arb & wishbone bushes) which are better than the stock ones?

One last quick question, how hard are they to fit? I'm pretty confident that i could fit them myself.

Best thing to do is go for the cupra bushes for the front wishbone rear bushes -

And the powerflex ARB bushes -

They are what I went for although still not fitted yet. Plan to get them done tomorrow :p

Do your front wishbone bushes need replaced? I was told by Sere that the front wishbone bushes rarely need replaced and when they do the whole wishbone need replaced. However I do notice that powerflex do a set for the front so maybe they where talking a load of rubbish. Hopefully some1 else can verify about the front bushes ??

One problem which does concern me is that the Powerflex factory just recently burn't down :(

That picture is confusing on Awesome Gti, why is there powerflex bushes in the picture with the cupra bushes?

Bit random isn't it  . I'm guessing the powerflex ones pictured are for the front bush and the idea of the picture is to show the set.

As far as the factory having burnt down, Awesome GTI are selling a different make of poly bush which are apparently just as good and a tad cheaper. The cupra bush is the main one and as long as you install it, i doubt the make of the poly bushes used will matter that much. But its your decision if you want to wait till the powerflex ones come back in stock.

Just been down my local stealers & ordered some Cupra front bushes :)

The guy on the parts department didn't realise that they were different on the 1.2 & cupra models, but when he looked at part numbers they were different, so ordered the cupra ones as everyone raves about them on here.

£19.22 damage made to the bank balance which i seem pretty good considering powerflex equivalents are £42.50.

you didnt order some ARB bushes as well ?

I think i shall order the powerflex ones if i can get hold of some, but i need to check to see which ARB i've got fitted, so i can order the right ones.

Going to change the Bushes for the cupra ones first & see if that solves the problem. I haven't even investigated which bushes are worn. But hopefully it will be the ones i've ordered.

I don't really hear the noise unless i have my music quiet, but when i do hear the sound, it makes me concerned.

I would reckon that Sere were talking from a main dealer's point of view, ie I'd doubt if many, or any main dealers of any marque would replace manufacturer's original parts with some aftermarket parts - its a no brainer really. That sort of choice only comes when using independant specialists. But as siad many times before on this and other VAG forums, the small front bush rarely needs replacing.

As for the suggestion to also use the Cupra ARB bushes - from another poster, the bushes are sized for the individual ARBs, ie there are no "only Cupra" ARB bushes for a selection of ARBs.
