Prob a stupid question

just wondering ..can you fit a climate control unit in the dash to an older Bammer 98 for example which has air-con. does the ecu need to be altered or is it just not possible ???

You can but it's a lot more involved than just fitting the climate unit. You need temperature sensors, servo motors to control the flaps to divert the air where it's needed, and all related wiring. It can be done but it aint worth it unless you can find a donor vehicle to rob all the bits you need.
