problem with the fabia wiper

just gt one, put it on my car, nice and easy, set off for work and doing a undisclosed speed that was slightly more than the reccomned motor way speed i look in my rear view to see the arm in the air. i pull over check it all as i knew i bolted it on good and propper!!

it seems the springs in it that would normally hold it down just dont seem to want to be as tight as they should be.. any oen else had tis problem or know what i should do except buetac it!

i also made sure i tightned it up propperly but it seems not to be as good as the original wiper which dissapoints me as so many people have said on here its better in looks and function.

Thats a strange one, havnt had that problem?? What age is your car?

53 plate. when i kept the car under 80 it didnt happen. but 80 seems slow these days

mine was fine at 130mph. Askara that is weird, maybe the spring is weak??

anway i can fix it.. as i got it off here so cant take it back.. failing that i would have to get another one.

sounds like the spring to me, try getting a replacement on the scam from skoda or something, chances are they would give you something trivial like a spring for pennies if that
and yes 80 is slow
i work in motorway maintenance and i do no less than 80, but also no more than 80!

apparently skoda have bad sales for one of the following reasons.. THEY ARNT ANSWRING PHONES ON WEEKENDS.

the only place that is open tells me to come back on monday.. i am not intrested inthat.. i want it fixed now. -gumbles-

I havent heard of that problem before, you will have to let me know if you get probs with Skoda and then i will take it up with the garage i bought them from. Does it look damaged or anyhting, maybe it got damaged in the post ?

no looks fine, wasnt gona haraas you as it aint your fault! i severly doubt it was bannaged in the post.. not from the way you packaged it! it works fine, cleans the screen but likes to hava mind of its own and unstick it self fro the car when driving at speeds that are amount faster than the recomended.
i will go to a skoda dealer on monday and see what they can do, tis shame.. as it makes the cars ass look nice!

cleaning the car on saturday and now some plastic has cracked and broken off.. i will just take it to the skoda dealership locally to me. pain in the ass.

If u want to compare it to a working fabia one, I am happy to drop by as I lurk only 15minutes or so from Farnborough area....

Does sound to me like a dud spring mechanism though...
