Okay not a big deal, but the car has only 3000 miles on it and im needing a new driverside wiper already - there is a notch taken out of the blade meaning the wiper doesnt cover all the window, and leaves a big 5mm wide line right in the drivers line of vision..

Ive never even handled the wipers before, bit peeved that its done this..:p

How much are new ones? Any chance of getting them changed under warranty :D

Sounds like its ripped on something stuck on the screen maybe, or a bit of grit on the blade.

They generally last longer than they used to due to the alternative park position system.

Yeah possibly, ive been in and out of quarrys all week, probably didnt do them any good..

What annoyed me the most lol - I though I could swap the passengers and drivers wipers, I had them both off and they are identical, appart from a wee knotch on the clip - why the hell would they do this just to stop them being interchangable..

Anyway, i know im clutching at straws.. Are the aero wipers expensive?

This came up on another forum, and wiperblades.co.uk were volunteered for a VW Passat. Then one of the resident VW techs posted that they were only £22 a pair as a dealer part.

If your Seat dealer is too expensive, perhaps another VAG group dealer will be cheaper.

I've brought a new pair of blades for my car, they were around £26 for the pair. There are 2 different part numbers for them (chassis break in the system) , so you need to make sure the parts department get the right ones! The ones I have are:-

1P0 955 426 B (driver)
1P0 955 425 B (passenger)

Bosch Aero Twins won't fit the Leon, they have Valeo wipers, which have a different fitting system than Bosch.

Dealer only job, unless you have a Valeo agent near by.

They have different part numbers left to right, as they are a mirror image of each other, if you fitted them the wrong way round the spoiler edge would be facing down instead of up during the sweep of the wiper.

^^ That would figure, couldn't work out why they would make them different fittings lol!

A quick update - I phoned the dealer for a price today and he said even though the wipers are a consumable item, because the car has only 3500 miles on it he doesnt see why they cant go through on the warranty, hes finding out and getting back to me in a day or two.. Ill let you know what they say.

Nice of a dealer to be helpful for a change..
