programming key fob

hi,

I need to reprogramme my key fob after changing the battery (old one died months ago only just got around to buying a new one so have been using the key to lock / unlock)

have spent the last hour searching the forum but can only find posts relating to a flip key which I don't have, I have a small roudish key with just a lock and unlock button, I have tried several procedures on here and nothing has worked yet.

car is a leon 04 sxi

thanks there is something in there and I tried it to the letter a good few times and it doesnt work, I guess I'll try popping to a dealer at weekend
