Well as promised i am going to start a guide to making your own projector hid head lights. You can do both main and dipped beam or just dipped its up to you. What you need to do is buy your kit, or if doing both two kits, the one i have you get every thing you need; light unit, bulbs, slim line ballasts, angel eyes and the adaptors to fit into the OE lights, its the one i would recommend, if anyone wants the sellers details please PM me.

The top wires are the bulb the middle ones are for the main beam flap and the bottom ones are the angel eye.

If you are planning to keep the lights chrome then you don't have to do any of the following, but if you want them black read on.

First you need to strip the light s down, they are screwed together so no real problems with this bit, first remove the bulb.

Just undo the small screw and gently pull the bulb out.

Don't touch the glass bit and put it somewhere safe.

Then undo all the screws you find and you should end up with this.

The small black bit is the connector i removed from the angel eye.

Now with this kit the white plastic part covering the angel eye bulbs clips on just insert a small flat head screw driver and twist one tab at a time and the cover will pop off, again be very careful with the bulb you can touch it though. I removed the bulbs from the plastic ring as i have a tool for removing electrical connectors from their housing but you don't need to remove the bulbs. I then rubbed the part that houses the glass lense with a abrasive pad the one you use for washing up will do (a new one though).

Just take the shine of its so the paint will have a key when you have done this you need to wipe them down with a degreaser and dry them this makes sure the paint wont react. Then primer them, i used acid etch but normal primer should be ok. let them dry.

Then you can paint them with the top coat i am using Matt black but you could use gloss if you wanted to.

Now the paint is dry you can put them back together i have taken two of the main beam "Flaps" out these will be the main beam lights i did this in my last set and its alot better you get a better beam but the dipped "Flaps" still open giving you a bit more light.

I found that the white plastic ring that covers the angel eyes was a bit to bright for what i wanted so i bought some smoke tint and gave them a light coat this finishes of the dark look, and the lights are still nice and bright.

I don't have any donor lights yet but i have a spare inner which i can show you.

You need to remove the metal parts, (Only the dipped if you are not doing the main beams) they are held in with two small hex bolts.

This is the dipped one.

And the main beam.

Now you have removed them the dipped one is ready to go, but the main needs the hole making a little bigger, i used my dremel with a sanding fitting on, it takes two minutes. The fittings are supplied with the kit so you need to find the two that fit these lights.

These are the adaptors that you get to fit the lights.

This bit of the light also need painting so rub it down with your washing up pad and degrease, then primer and when that's dry apply the top coat. This is as far as i can go at the moment until my lights arrive next week when i will go through the worst bit...splitting the lights.

I couldn't fit the pics of these into the first instalment (10 pic limit)

This is the angel eye part dismantled.
