yeah cause your still using the OE headlight housing just changing the insides so the motors and adjusters stay in place :)

Do you know if it is possible to get the kit without the xenon?

I already have xenon in both main and dipped :)

Small up date i am still on the look out for some donor lights at the right price, so as soon as i find some i will carry on with the guide.

Got to laugh just looked for lights on the bay (Under Leon) none at decent price, then thought i would try Toledo, and what do you know there is a pair £25 each so i have just bought them so hopefully get them middle of next week.

Great guide so far mate...looking to do this myself at some point.
Can you tell me whether the projectors you used are 2.5" or 3"?

Ok thanks mate, I'll keep an eye on this thread.
What are your reasons for changing the existing ones?

Today my projectors came, really nice piece of kit and they only took about 4 days to arrive!
But Ive totally destroyed one of my donor headlights trying to split it

I had it in the oven for about 5minutes with the door slighty open keeping a close eye on it , i tryed to split it with a flat scraper and a flat headed screwdriver but it would not budge
Put it back in the oven for another 5mins got it mega hot and still no good . The headlamp back was flexing more than the sealer which was still hard

pretty gutted I was looking forward to doing this but the design and shape of the leon headlamps are a nightmare
I think Ile wait and see Phill gets on with his before I kill another one:lol:

Just done mine today and about to update the guide, i put them in the oven for 10 mins at 100 0C and the first one came straight off no problems the second one was a bit more of a pain, but a couple of 5min sessions and it came a part no problems.

As they looked unpacked

First thing i did was remove all the metal bits and the bulbs and as above got the first lense off.

Just use a flat head screw driver and tease the plastic away from the lense. Once you have the lense off you need to remove the black insert.

Be VERY careful with this as the tabs snap off very easily.

then you need remove the reflectors, just unscre the adjuster (Clockwise) until they fall out.

You should then be left with this.
