im wondering if anyone can help ive removed my pulley from my alternator when i stripped it down and now for the lift of me i can hold it still to tighten back up ive seen a socket set with a hole in the end of the ratchet handle and some sockets with a spanner ending on them so you can tighten with spanner instead of socket and then use another ratchet to hold the shaft still in the middle do you know what these socket sets are called and where to get a 24mm one from, many thanks

Halfords/Draper did a ratchet called the 'Vortex', but there are specific kits around for tightening them up.

is it the freewheeling pulley type ? Sealey Tools over at Machine Mart do a kit for about £15-20 odd

in the good old days it was gloves and a big fast airgun :) lol
