puzzling problem with aircon and reverse light!!!

Hi everyone, im new here so sorry if i get anything wrong!! im having a few problems with the aircon and heating sytem on my ibiza 1.4 16v 2002. It sarted with the problem that i couldnt open the recerculating air flow valve ( the one that changes from outside air to recirulate the cars air) so iv changed the main aircon pannel and the valve motor but it didnt do anything and now i get the problem that if i put the car into reverse it opens, and when i take it out of reverse it closes!!!!

A friend of mine says that they had a problem with there ibiza and it was because a cable was shorting out on the body but iv been looking and iv got no idea were the cable could be.....

if anyone has any ideas it would be great.

mate i think if you have the 16v your in the wrong section you have a mk 4 or your engine information wrong

Recirculate comes on automatically when you put the car in reverse so that the exhaust fumes don't enter the car.
