Ok just fitted my blow off valve today, was quite fiddle with the bottom bolts. anyways all on now and a nice noise.

However.... my fuel consumption has dropped big time from 35.5mpg down to 26-28mpg. now i dont know if its me booting it every now and then to make the noise or somthings wrong. But the trip hasnt reset its self for like 2 hours and i have had some fun in it for say 20 mins of them lowering the fuel consumption down in the 20s. Do you think its becuase of that and its taking an average over the 2 hours driving cycle. ive tryed driving granny style for 9 miles and only got it up to 28max lol.

Does the ECU need to re-learn?? dont think ive got a air leak sounds and goes alright still. ive also hooked it up to the vag tester and had a fault stored in engine electronics. it said malfunction but no fault stows up in the system and you cant clear it becuase nothing is there. will check again monday very strange but i doubt this has anything to do with the bov anyway.

all seems ok now, just reset the trip and its back to normal. must take the average over the 2hour period.

Im betting the fault you cant clear is to do with excessive brake vacuum.

Update the engine ECU and that goes.

even if there no fault code appearing? just saying malfunction, i go into it to read code and blank nothing there, tryed wiping all codes in system. no difference.

i dont use vag much but how do i go about updating, might have to ask the seat techie to try.

basically when i go fualt finding, i have malfunction on engine electronics, 0010 i think beside the malfunction. i go in to read dtc memory content and nothing appears. as if there is no code stored.

ill get him to look anyways.

yas will probs think im daft but could someone put some pictures up of where the BOV is on the new cupra bocanegras as i cant find it, it is the first turbo car ive owned tho so i dont really know what im looking for lol, and does anyone know where i can buy some coilovers from ??

Cheers

Yup here you go, fits just to the left of the turbo. The nice shiny silver part.

did you have to take any other covers off apart from the plastic engine one then? or was it just a simple there it is couple of bolts?

you have to remove the main cover, the breather pipe into the top of the cranck case, couple of hoses, and then remove the valve itself. its quite fiddly and tight to get on the bottom bolt, really isnt as simple as it looks, but you will have no probs if your good with your hands and have the coorect tools. you will need a 5mm allen key if i remember rightly.

is well worth the sound tho put it that way.

cool. i will probs get myself one of these after my car has been back to seat for this weird clicking rattley noise its making wen i go over speed bumps or wotever :(

That clunking is normal, every single DSG is doing that noise, you just waste time away from your beautiful car :p

nope just fit the bov, all it is is a spacer that lets the pressure out into the atmosphere when letting your foot of the gas. its quite a loud tishhhhhhhhhhh and i think its the nuts.

and dont waste your time as gr dude said about the rattle, everyones does it. mines annoying me too and i know chucks does it also, and by the sounds of it many others.
