right ive just got my car back from garage and its jus had new water pump and timing belt pullies and so on the full works but before the car took old one off he noticed that the timing belt had been running right on edge of cam phoned and told me but said sould be nothing to worry about all the new parts will take care of it but when he pu tall the new parts on it done it again and slips and wont sit in middle of the cam pully so hes stripped it and cleaned and realined everything and rebuilt it all 3 times but time and time again does the same thing :wtf: has anyone every expericed this or heard or anything like it as iam not a little paranoid about driving it even tho it had been doing it for months before on old belt

cheers

Mine doesnt sit bang on

You can see a few mm of the pulley teeth to the right side of the belt

Another Cupra i have seen is in the exact same position

Also i saw a thread the other day on here and noticed theres was also in the same place

Well heres a pic of mine, this is how mine and the other 2 i have seen sit on the pulley

Obviously the other side of the belt overhangs the pulley by a few mm too

I werent sure on this when i first saw it but after seeing others like it i just thought it must be normal

That how yours is?
