Dunlop slicks developed for BTCC
WTCC uses Yokohama slicks developed for WTCC

They're linked to road cars by name only (ie Yoko Advan) - amazingly it's marketing to make people think they're buying the same tyres as race cars

Very misleading marketing, cant remember where I read it, but the statement was that the tire in question is used as the control tyre by the series, which I found odd, but thought it could be true due to race series these days trying to make the cars more relevant and comparable to everyday cars.

Either way my purchase wasnt hinged on that, but thanks for clearing it up.

just google poverty, superb price! Get them fitted and get a review on the go.

will do, looks like wayne will be running these tyres soon aswell, so will be interesting to see what he makes of em, albeit hes coming from those 65 quid falkens.

Is the load and speed rating not an issue at all?

Std fit tyre's are 92Y, the above link is to 88W. Could or would there ever be any insurance implication's if anything happened and wrong rated tyre's were fitted?

Only ask as had this query with a mate when he was shopping round for tyre's and he was wanting to stick to supplied spec and it would be good to clear it up once and for all

Stick with at least the manufacturers reccomended rating.

If you fitted the above rating you'll end up with egg shaped tyres and horrible feeling handling due to soft side walls

My R1Rs are 88w and have been fine? Sidewalls on them and stiff as fook.

Is the W the load rating or something? Most of the trackday tyres seem to be W's bar a few

damn 168mph, doesnt leave much if any headroom on these cars then does it

I still dont understand what the 88 is about though!
