A radar detector will only detect radar gun's, not speed camera's.
For cameras you need a GPS device of which I'g go for Road Angle or TomTom.
Road Angle as at present they offer the best and most up-to-date data base.
Tomtom because you get a satnav at the same time..

Only if you buy cheap.
Look for Stinger V.I.P. or card with optional laser eyes. The system works and warns in time but you need to collect a lot of speed tickets to justify the price of these systems.

I've got one and to be honest your better of with a Tom Tom, example A14 at Huntindon has had spec cameras for a number of years, DVR-3HD still alerts you for the old Gatso cameras, that's just one example, snooper help is next to useless when you try to speak to them about it
To update you need to remove the micro sd card download a file to it, replace it into the camera turn on and confirm software update, take it back out delete the file and then put the card back in the camera, alot of messing about.
Snooper software only works with Windows pc, video quality is ok although sometimes a bit jerky as if on time lapse. Unit it's self is when on the suction mount is quite big, ok in my truck and 4x4 but in my Leon it's obtrusive.
I'm looking for one for the Leon but won't bother with Snooper, looking at one of the smaller units that there was a thread about a couple of months back

The problem with these types is that they can't locate cams that are hidden/vans etc, you need a good radar/laser detector that also has a built in GPS database, and they don't come cheap.
This is the kind of thing, I used this make away back when I used to speed everywhere, it won all the tests ran by the motoring mags then.

You could spend a small fortune on stuff like this and still run the risk of getting caught.
I've plumped for the Brodit iPhone 6 mount and use either Cyclops or CamerAlert. I'm leaning towards CamerAlert now though as it will display the map with the camera position as well as an audible alert.
Much cheaper and IMHO equally as good as some more expensive options.

Got cameralert on my iphone now and bought a subscription off them, pretty good!!!
I have found a K2 which works pretty well but no good for laser alert

my daughter swears by waze because it's up to the minute, being updated by road users there and then...mountes her phone on the dash and has bluetooth linked to a speaker on her sunvisor (no bluetooth to her car)
I've just downloaded Waze and going to give it a try, more for the traffic info, any idea what sort of data usage it has I know the traffic will use some but what about the navigation part?
