Radio cuts out on an FR

Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem before I ask my useless dealer. I have the 2017 FR and whenever I listen to the radio FM or DAB it seems to cut out for about a second and comes back(not all the time but at least once for a 20 minute journey) I understand that it could be a bad signal/frequency while travelling. However this happens on every trip.

I live in a city don't really go out to the country side. I have tried this on different stations and it always seems to do it at least once a jouney.

ours does it on a regular basis in the same place in front of our driveway, just assumed there was a dead spot there

Mine too. Dab never dropped on my last car but my brand new FR does it all the time. I guess it's to do with the internal ariel

My 2017 model does it from time to time but also my previous 16 plate golf did it also.i dont think its just a seat thing.

My last Leon never cut out on DAB whereas my 2017 model does quite often!!

Sounds like a standard fault then on the facelift. Here's hoping a software update will sort it as it's very irritating

Ours does it all the time., especially when out in the wilds of Wales. Previous ones have been the same, so assume it is a coverage problem. Ah , the advances in technology....
Meant to say that's only on DAB. Never bother with FM, if the DAB goes then the SD card comes on

I have the same with DAB. It's always at the same place on my journey so I am guessing that there is something causing interference (mains cable under the road etc).

I'm glad it's not just me. Hopefully there will be some sort of update soon. It's getting really annoying!

Yup mine does it all the time on dab like most above assumed it was a reception issue ?

My 2013 MK3 Leon with no external aerial never did this (most of my journeys are in central London and sometimes on highway. This was the 5.8" screen version. When it does cut out, it doesn't come back on as out of signal.

My current Ibiza with a proper ugly aerial sticking out, does it every so often, eg...volume would go very low...almost to cut out...and it resumes normal volume again (as if Sat Nav voice was interrupting). This one is the 6.5" version.

Yes mine does this as well on facelift fr. I thought I was going mad! Does it every minute or so and does not matter what station it's on either. Very annoying...

Yes mine is the same and after several visits to the dealer they can't find a fault even after i showed them a video of it going off. they did do a software update and it has been a little better.
