radio doesnt find any stations!

as above my mates cupra doesnt find any stations?been told he neeed a new head unit but is

this right or is there a cheaper fix?if so what is the part number

Mine sort of does this, like i have radio one stored in on number 2 when i press it, it searches through random stations before finding it after 4-5seconds....bloody annoying!

Dont know it it can be fixed or is a new head unit job, have a search i guess.... i think it is a common problem

Could be the aerial connection to the head unit or the aerialitself - I had this problem and once i replaced these it was sorted and the reception much clearer and picked up more stations.
