REAL loud sqeaking on lcr brakes?

Just jumped into my car, as I was driving down the road a sqeaking from the front(I think) brakes got louder and louder, until it was unbearably loud. Waited a while and took the car back out, left the handbrake off while it was parked, and the same things just happened again..any ideas, Im bricking myself about this..

howd you know its from the brakes, is it only when you brake?

do the pads have a wear indicator on them, some pads have a piece of metal that touches the disc when they are almost worn out, this could be causing the squeak

If it only just happened itr will be a stone stuck between the pad and the disc, just brake gently untill this displaces its self or you wear it away

If it's a stone becarefull it does'nt put a big scar in the disc.

tap the backplate shield & flex it about - hopefully a stone will fall out and it will be quiet again

Ive had this problem so its wheels off to check for stones then
