Right here goes...

This follows on from my previous thread discussing my idiot neighbour slamming his door into mine.

I think to get get rid of the dent I'm going to have to get access to the rear door skin. My question is how easly can this be achieved?! What lies behind the door car and is this possible? I'm guessing theres going to be lots of things in the way???

Cheers

Inside the door card will look like this with manual windows and no speakers:

...and with electric windows plus speakers like this:

Removing the door card is no problem, the inner housing wasn't that fun. Two persons job and don't forget to secure the the window. I've only stripped the door completely when the electric window broke and there where a lot wires everywhere. I'm not doing that again, too me it's not worth the risk of breaking anything.

In that case wouldn't "Back Door Entry" be more appropriate???

Anyways back on topic!

Thanks for the info mate...

My cars booked in at a specialist to see whether he can get rid of the dent. He was making reference to removing the inside of the door trim + panel if he can't get to it from the outside (which Dent Inc couldnt when they tried this morning). The place I'm taking it to normally work on BMWs and Jags so I'm hoping he will know his stuff...

I'm just wondering whether I'm onto a loser or whether there is something he can actually do to get rid of it! I really don't want him braking things if theres no hope.

If you've not already seen this is where the dent is....

I'll try to give a straight answer to a rear door query...:fool:

Don't know how old your car is but personally I wouldn't fix the dent on a 4-5 years old car. That's nothing unusual on a used car and shouldn't make your car less worth when you sell it. Only if there's risk of rust I'd do something about it. What if it happens again?

If there's any comfort, my car has about ten dents like that... I guess the previous owner got them from driving/parking on a gravel track because there's even one on the roof!

YAY the dent have now been removed!

Went to a place called DentTec in Warrington who sorted it out in minutes!

If anyone in the Northwest needs to get theirs sorted then I can't rate DentTec highly enough. In all honesty the guy (Dave) is a genious!

It definitely pays to take your car to a specialist :D

I'm so chuffed the Leon is back to prestine :D
