rear drinks holder??

Hi all, since i have had the car ive always been a little annoyed that the only drinks holder that is really useable when driving is the dash mounted one (the glovebox one is rubbish really) and noticed that there are two screw holes just below the rear ashtray that seem to have no use. Is there a drinks holder in the rear of the golf or passat etc that could be made to fit the leon?

If not why are those holes there for folks anyone know???

Really want somewhere for passengers to put their drinks when the car is in motion and not have to worry about having a lap full of coke!!

I cannot help you as regards a rear drinksholder however, the two small holes were orginally used as headphone sockets in early model Leons.

The MKIV has a cup holder, maybe it would fit??? Never looked to be honest but I'm intrigued now.

Ha ha ha ha - those two holes are for headphones when used with the standard stereo. That’s only true with earlier leons. If you’ve a newer one then I don’t know and I’ll shut up.

Anyone got a golf and a leon (hint hint stan lol) that they can take a pic of the holder and post it just to see how different they are.

Used to own a bora, that had a double drink holder under the rear ashtray in the centre console. Till it was left out then got stepped on!

lol stan, i couldnt believe the result and was already planning the trip to liverpool (then remembered that im in andorra skiing when the match would have been played), but think its a blessing in disguise cos we need to get out of that league (i know im just making excusses lol) and need as little distractions as possible (i feel a little better now ).
Now get that picture taken and stop taking the p**s lol

There must be one from the audi vw skoda range that fits the leon!?!?

Stan i know mate i was bloody devastated aswell, but as long as we get promoted (automatically i dont think my nerves can take the play offs again) this year i dont care about anything else. We would have lost a few league games thinking about the match against liverpool aswell. I take it your a swans fan mate (how come all the way up in blackpool??).

Cheers for the pics mate, but can you do me one more favour and measurethe width on the golf console where the armrest is cos i will cut out the console from the armrest back and replace it with the golf one (can put 2 pieces of metal on the sides of the little coin tray when i fit the armrest (hidden then) and plastic weld the rest that will be out of view. (Pretty sure that there is a cupra being broken in a local salvage yard so will see how much they want for it and can have a muck about then)!!

This is only if the golf one cant be fitted more easily

I know pass 3M's and then turn right at the lights (wish you were still living down here to be honest would be good to have someone about the area that was into the leon scene).

Anyway, I cant get measurements yet, so I'll do it tomorrow. I reckon it may be easier to chop a Golf and a Leon centre together, and plastic weld them in the middle maybe????

sorry for the late reply lads been on hols (skiing). Im from Skewen Stan by the way. So do you reckon it would be better to replace the whole console or plastic weld the ashtray bit (well by the armrest like i was planning originally). Isnt the front ashtry in a different place on the golf and the leon ashtray wouldnt open with the golf console fitted??
