rear foglight problem

Hi


i have a 2008 seat leon tdi 5 door now i sent to to my local MOT station this moring and it failed on rear fog light not working so he replaced the bulb he then phoned my saying its more then a fuse or bulb and the cars showing a code relating to wiring fault.

Now i wanted to see if anybody has had this fault the reversing light is not working aswell i dont want to go paying £42 an hour to find out its somthing simple and help gratley appreciated

you may find that the fault memory needs clearing on the on board power supply unit to get bulbs working
you need to do this on some VWs

your leon has a relay plate that is called a j517 on board power supply module
this distributes power to the interior of the car ie lights windows dash so on
if there is a fault in this unit then it will not power up that component until fault is cleared using vagcom
