Hi,

Apologies if this has already been posted and solved but was struggling to find it on here.

I am after some white LED bulbs to replace the dull yellow bulbs currently fitted. I purchased some online and they lit up fine but flagged an error on the dash.

Has anyone had any they recommend? To save me going through trial and error on hundreds!

Thanks In Advance,

Nath

Thank you, the bulbs I bought before apparently were but they are getting sent back. They simply said some cars are extremely sensitive.

Never had a problem with my 56 Leon so maybe it is more sensitive.

Thanks though, Il just try another company

Bought these. Cheap and nasty ones. Seemed to work okay in my last Seat Leon so will give these a try and let you know.

Also was looking into the new 'tick' shaped lights. Would look great but like £400 plus coding..such a shame!

Well the ones I bought worked when I only had 1 original bulb and 1 led in but errors appeared when I had both led s in. So guessing it wasn't drawing enough for the car to think they were powered. Will try the bulbs you recommended though. Thanks in advance. I WILL get these working!

If you already have the led bulbs, then just add a 10 pence resistor across the the circuit
That's all that makes a cam bus, a cam bus bulb, if that makes sense.

The resistor loads the circuit, just as the resistance from the incandescent bulb would

Thanks dw911. I recieved the Festoon ones with 6 LEDs and they errored aswell!

Now excuse me for being the most uneducated person in forum history but which resistor should I buy? And where do you solder the resistor? Do you solder it across the entire bulb from one pin to the other. Or just solder it to one end of the bulb? Literally only had my school experience to go from! While ago now..

Thanks in advance

Gutted. Okay then I admit defeat! Can you buy white bulbs as a pose to the yellow ones? Even if they are pricey. Links if you can please?

I had the same issue, the newer cars seem to be really sensitive canbus wise. I fitted some by doing a mod a few others have done on here, wiring a standard w5w bulb holder in and pushing that inside bumper, then fitting the LED. Canbus sees normal bulb, no faults. Bulb cant be seen from outside , only LED. Job done.
