I think you may find that their 6"x4", JBL do them, im sure others will. I know halfords sell them.

Go into halfords and ask if they have any discontinued jbl 6x4's, they maybe less than £10.

You probably already know this but it's widely thought that a decent car install shouldn't have rear speakers as they draw the sound stage back. With that in mind it might be worth saving your beer-tokens to upgrade your front speakers instead...

ive already upgraded the front speakers for some 4inch vibe slicks ive also fitted some infinty reference 6x9s in the parcel shelf and a 12 inch vibe blackair sub which are both powered by the sony xplod amp..its already sounding pretty crisp bt i just want to use the last 2 channels from the head unit and as the wires are there it should be easy! thanks for the info though!!!!

Get rid of the 6x9s. You don't need rear speakers. As that other dude said, all they do is move your sound staging back which isn't what you want.

Do you sit in the back? No... So don't build a system for people who do.

Also rather you'd probably be best getting hold of some door pockets with speaker pods and getting some 6.5" components up front in place of your 4" speakers in the dash. You can use the space where the factory speakers are in the dash to mount the tweeters that come with the components.

With some components up front and just the sub in the boot it should sound pretty good (and you can sell the 6x9s to fund the components) :)

If I were you I'd just disconnect the rear speakers, they really don't do anything for you if you're in the driver's seat!

I have a simple system, set up well and it sounds good.

JVC head unit, Infinity coaxials (soon to be replaced with Rainbow components) amped off a small Sony, and a 12 inch JL W3 running off a Fusion monobloc (I know, the Fusion is crap and doesn't drop low enough but it was free!)

No need for rear speakers at all, unless you're a chauffeur...

Cheers Dirtbiker, one day i'll do it all like i did with my Golf but don't get out much like i did in those days:p might just go n order some, not exactly a fortune to lose if don't like 'em is it? might be better off getting me headlight first tho, prob more urgent seeing as it getting dark earlier n glass is smashed on mine.Don't wanna blind someone so they stove their car into mine do i?:blink:haven't decided what lights to go for yet,bit worried about the fit not being totally right on non-standard stuff???
